Sunday School
Sunday school at the Burlington United Methodist Church is for children of all ages; preschool— middle school. There is also a nursery for children that are not old enough to join a class, and of course Sunday school for adults. Sunday school hours are 9:15 am —10:15 am on Sunday mornings. Sunday school uses the LIVE BIG! Curriculum. It is a fun and interactive curriculum in which the children Hear, See, and Live their Belief in God! There are Bible stories, crafts, games, short video clips, dancing and singing, and lots of fun! Children’s Church
Burlington United Methodist Church offers Children’s Church for children ages 3 through 2nd grade during 10:30 am church services. The children are invited to attend service with their parents, but after the Children’s Sermon they are welcomed upstairs for Children’s Church, where they have their own Children’s Worship with Bible stories and activities. Children’s Church is a fun alternative to long Worship Service geared for adults. What is better that letting children experience worshipping God in their own level of understanding in a fun environment?
Mid Week Program: B.I.G. Club (Believe in God Club)
Wednesday afternoons at the Church are lots of fun for 2nd—5th graders. The B.I.G. Club meets from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm for “pre-youth group” experience. It has been a huge success, and there have been a lot of great times learning about the Bible and having fun activities in a Christian atmosphere. There are singing, learning about the Bible through stories and trying to memorize verses, playing games both in and outdoors, cooking and crafts.

Special Events
The Christian Education of the Church offers special events for children of all ages. These special events are offered a few times a year, normally on Saturday mornings. They include VeggieTales videos, carnival games, special crafts and activities, and a meal. These events are very exciting for the kids. See bulletin and newsletter for information for these events.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a very special event. For the last 3 years we have traveled back in Jesus’ times. We want the children to experience the Bible stories rather than to just read about them. We have reached up to 90 kids each year. It is a wonderful mid-summer experience! It is the hope and prayer of the Burlington United Methodist Church Christian Education to lead Children to know Jesus as their personal savior, and to have a personal relationship Jesus. It is our hope to provide Christian Education for everyone and to provide opportunity for growth in a fun and loving environment.
Safe and Sacred Spaces Policy
The United Methodist Church requires for all people that are in ministry with children to be certified. Our church takes this very seriously and all our teachers and helpers are trained to be able to provide the kind of environment that God would want us to have for safe learning to take place.
